“I will start by saying that I have listened to at least the FOUR latest podcasts, and AT LEAST the first 15 before making any judgements on the MCS series. I have run podcasts (and been interviewed) in the fire service training realm, and they are not an easy feat to take on, and remain successful at. That being said, you certainly cannot make everyone happy. I would like to think that this is a very fair and well-rounded review.
I highly recommend the MCS Podcast Series to anyone that is like-minded whether you are just starting out (I am relatively new, but by no means in the dark) or a seasoned survivalist/prepper. The guest speakers are experts in their respective fields, as is Jeff and his team. Right now, I am a sponge for information on these topics, and MCS does not disappoint. Guests like EJ Owens, Kevin Reeve and Max Velocity are so far my favorites and the ones that I have learned a TON from. I am in the process of listening to all of the podcasts from the beginning while I commute.
A few of these reviews do not give enough credit to the entire series, and in my opinion most of the low ratings are based on a single phrase in a single podcast, that in some cases could be or were taken out of context:
The .410 shotgun negative review is a review that was most-likely taken out of context. The guest was speaking of the perfect shotgun for his FAMILY. This meaning that his kids and his wife may need to use it in case he was not home or incapacitated. I had honestly never viewed this aspect of a ‘weapon selection’ and appreciated those thought processes. Jeff and Buck touched on this in one of the Friday Reloads that preceded that podcast, specifically discussing this 1-star review.
As for MCS being ‘too basic’, I appreciate that MCS started off basic or I could never get up to speed with the advanced information. If MSC started ‘advanced’, where is their room to grow?
My only frustration is that sometimes the audio (especially on Buck’s end of the Friday Reload’s, and some of the guests) seem to cut in and out (not completely, just hard to hear) at sporadic times. It certainly does not degrade the content, it is just a frustration.
You are probably wondering if Jeff is paying me for this review. The answer is ‘no’. I really enjoy their content and the dynamic that they have going on in this series. I am also a member of their email list, and quite honesty I have benefited from their ‘capitalist advertisements’ by ordering products they recommend.
Keep up the great work! I have taken your advice on many aspects and have not been disappointed. Long live North Korea!
