Diastasis recti
Loved this episode and the information that I learned from it! I am currently pregnant with my second child, and I am trying to be very conscious this time around about protecting my pelvic floor. I had a difficult birth with my three-year-old daughter (episiotomy, vacuum AND a third degree tear). Although my rectus abdominals healed and my upper abs became defined again, I could not shake a little pooch in my lower abs which I am convinced was due to the trauma to my pelvic floor. I wish that women were offered physical therapy after such traumatic events to our body, but unfortunately it’s up to us to educate ourselves. I am definitely planning on incorporating the diaphragmatic breathing tecnique into my everyday routine as well as the tips on how to properly engage my core going forward.
