Regarding American Dirt, Zibby says to just “let [Jeanine Cummins] tell her story” and “if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” The level of privilege (and delusion) it takes to go on a rant like this—especially after having read the backlash—is pretty... extraordinary.

I am an avid reader and love hearing from authors, but I am pretty consistently disappointed in the hosts’s delivery in questioning the authors. Particularly the episode with Amanda Kloots, I felt several cringeworthy moments. I wish the questions were prepared or presented more thoroughly.
