Finance + Philosophy = Great Resource
I’ve been listening to this podcast since Dec. 2019, as a continuous motivator and strategic advisor toward my FIRE goal of shifting from my current (unfulfilling) career into work and activities that I enjoy and are more meaningful to me. David’s simple, straightforward explanations on a wide range of personal finance and investing topics have informed me, and I’ve grown my network 40% in ~3 yrs. (Mostly through aggressive savings because I’m still a young 38.) At this rate, I could lean FIRE retire by 43. So I’m already focusing on finding “what’s next?” in terms of work activities and lifestyle. I love the philosophy episodes about Thoreau and Emerson. Gives me deep inspiration to choose the path of non-conformity, to opt out of consumerism and debt, to choose a simple yet deeply meaningful existence.
