“Like a true maniac, I’ve been rewatching Supernatural for the who-knows-th time on two different schedules (one with my wife’s family, who haven’t watched before, and another with a group of friends who like discussing the show in depth and have seen it as many times as I have) and I figured it was a good idea to add a third stream of Sam, Dean, and Cas content to my brain.
So I started listening to MOTW podcast ten days ago, and I’m already 51 episodes deep with no sign of slowing down.
At first I was unsure if it would be the podcast for me, because it seemed like the guys were focusing on a very surface level reading of the characters, and had a kind of dismissiveness about the quality of the show that bothered me—but after the first couple of episodes there is a definite shift in their discussion, and I’m really happy that I stuck with it.
Listening to Jeremy and Chris break down every episode and talk about all the things I love about this show has been a blast, and I’ve loved hearing their theories and takes on different aspects of the story and the characters. Funnily enough, I especially like hearing all the outtakes—getting to know the hosts of the show a little bit makes their thoughts and opinions of Supernatural more interesting, and I love reaching the the end of an episode and realising there’s still half an hour (or more) to go. It feels a bit like hanging out with friends, if that’s not too weird to say!
So thanks for sharing all your thoughts with everyone, and for making such an excellent podcast! Can’t wait to catch up to your release schedule—at the mildly worrisome rate I’ve been listening, I’ll probably catch up in about a month and a half.
