Over dramatic speech
I think Lilian Cunningham has a great story and I bet she is a great writer, but I wish she would rely on the content to reel the listener in - not by using over dramatic speech patterns, long pauses, slightly absurd wording and constant allusions to “things to come.” WaPo readers and listeners will stay tuned just for the content - we don’t need the gimmicks.

Anxiously waiting for the next show. I watched all of the Apollo shots with my mother. She would get me up early in the morning And we would be excited about it all the rest of the day. Fabulous to know there’s a backstory!
