A little ridiculous
This is one of the more ridiculous murder podcasts I’ve heard. It’s entertaining but everything feels like a stretch and a ton of assumptions and leading questions. A youth pastor does not usually have enough sway to convince women God wants them to have sex with them. Actually, I didn’t hear either woman say he said God wanted them to do that. It all sounds consensual. I’ve known several good men that get married soon after a wife’s death, it’s ridiculous to say how someone should respond after losing a spouse. Was he an idiot and hypocrite? Absolutely. The evidence for murder, though, feels weak. Ultimately, this podcast dramatizes everything and it all just felt ridiculous.

I think Dateline and Josh did a great job on this short series… however, I feel like they missed the mark on calling this organization a church. It was obviously a cult and the fact that they didn’t outwardly touch on that was disappointing.
