Truly Helpful
Listening to the podcast about parenting after NICU trauma was transformative. I mothered a NICU baby for four months and though she is now 7.5, she still has a lot of medical and developmental issues. Listening to the couple speak of how hard it was and how hard it still is is exactly the truth. The Therapist was so insightful, I have been in therapy off and on for years to deal with the guilt, the grief, the depression and my quest for acceptance, and I have never felt as heard or as helped as I did listening to the Host/Therapist. When she told Cari that it wasn’t her fault and to be nicer to herself and that self care isn’t self indulgent, that she has a rougher road so self care is warranted. To hear the husband say how he wished it could be different for his wife, and how he doesn’t blame her helped me understand my wonderful husband more. Please keep talking about the hard stuff, you are helping people.

This podcast really makes you feel validated in your feelings. It gave me confidence in my mothering without being preachy.

Found this while perusing psychology related podcasts. As a mom and future therapist, so happy to see you talking about these common, but unrecognized, concerns.
