Disappointing stance on continued breastfeeding
I’ve enjoyed listening to the podcast, although I was disappointed by the therapists take on the decision to continue to breastfeed a baby who is not yet two, and a lack of understanding around the mothers reluctance to stop this. The therapist seems to suggest that it is better for the child to stop and this will make them more independent. There is a lot of evidence of the physical and psychological benefits of breastfeeding a baby to two years and beyond (and it is recommended by the World Health Organisation). Obviously it is not the norm within our culture but I would someone considered to be an expert in this sort of field would be better informed.

This podcast is so real and Dr. Sacks is so insightful and grounding. This is hands down one of the best podcasts I’ve ever heard. A must listen for parents or anyone who’s looking to do some self reflection.
