There will be a Q&A following this screening with director Karen Chapman and producer Enrique Miguel Baniqued. In VILLAGE KEEPER, Jean is a widow paralyzed by anxiety and struggles to protect her kids in a Toronto neighborhood gripped by violence. As her kids grow and find themselves desperate for independence, and as her mother hides secrets from her own past from her, Jean tries to find happiness and peace. However while finding solace in cleaning, she inadvertently uncovers her own long-buried trauma while tidying a bloody crime scene.
