“Unlike some of the other True Crime podcasts I’ve been listening to, MURDER IN THE RAIN has taken me to towns I’ve not yet seen or (in some cases) even heard of. MITR has introduced me to many, mysterious and intriguing cases which I personally had not heard about (although that could just be because I grew up in Scotland) prior to listening to this show. They exclusively cover cases that occurred in and around the Pacific Northwest and the hosts Emily Rowney and Alisha Holland do a great job at providing the listener with an almost metaphysical experience of that part of the country. You get a real sense of the lush, wet and beautiful scenery which is the backdrop that contrasts so well with the seediest, grizzliest crimes imaginable.
What I also love about this podcast is that Emily and Alisha are both naturally funny people and will often crack each other up which will have you spluttering your morning coffee all over the dashboard...whether you are in a car or not, whether you drink coffee or not.
Be it a skillful sense of timing or good editing, they keep it under control leaving their listeners both entertained and well informed.
