“I originally found Sydney on IG and became a follower because her posts had a rawness and a realness I don’t often see on IG. Her “I don’t promise I know what I’m doing but here it is anyway” attitude is, in my eyes, relatable. Isn’t that how most adults are actually operating? Most people aren’t so transparent, but she doesn’t pretend.
Sydney brings the same realness to her podcast, and it’s been a pleasure to get to know her better on this platform. I appreciate that she’s taken the time and done the work to create a brand for the content she generates. I started listening to her because my heart desires vanlife, but I’m stuck working for a non-profit for another 4 years to qualify for loan forgiveness, so in the meantime I have to experience van life vicariously. But I think watching her journey is what’s kept me coming back. She doesn’t always share her struggles in real time (as is her right) but as a follower you can tell if she’s going through something. And she’ll usually share details down the road once she’s processed it. Getting to watch her grow and change has been a pleasure.
I found her social anxiety episode to be particularly illuminating. I would NEVER have guessed this about her before that episode, but it made me realize just how brave she has been in every single post. I think the vulnerability she shows makes her listeners feel like she’s a friend to whom they can tell anything.
Sydney, as a fellow yogi I’d love to know more about your yoga journey, how it influenced your spiritual life, and if it’s helped you on the road! It clearly had quite an impact on you since you incorporated it into your name “Divine on the Road!”
And if you ever hear of an internet hotspot that has consistently reliable high speed signal ANYWHERE please post about it. I’m always on the lookout! My job allows for remote work and I would LOVE to join the van lifestyle!”
