A great podcast but confused why Joe (the producer) is there?

“I’ve just come across this podcast, and love them both! It’s a really natural sounding conversation and I find them both amusing. The sound can be a bit dodgy in terms of volume and being too close to the microphone. The bit that is strange is the guy (Joe) and his chipping in and laughing on some episodes. I believe he is the producer but I’m so confused about his purpose. In some episodes you just hear him laughing and it’s very weird, others he is brought into the conversation slightly. Would be better without as it adds nothing.”
