Great Content-Annoying side material
Professor Corey Olson does a very good job diving deep into a tight textual analysis of the Lord of the Rings. Loses a star based on his extensive promotion of his other projects, as well as an inconsistent and often dismissive view of those who do not share his interpretations, especially, though not uniquely, in the area of textual adaptation. Nevertheless, this is still largely a fantastic podcast (though infrequently updated). It seems to run weekly, though the podcast itself is only updated with 3-5 episodes approximately monthly.

I just started this series a month ago, so I’ve been binge listening to try to catch up. I’m loving looking at the trilogy with this much detail and depth. I’m getting some new ideas about and understanding of the story. Thanks to Dr Olsen for sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm.

I like this series but after hearing the good dr. drone on for two years on the council of Elrond I realize he make ents seem down right hasty. Biggest problem I have is neither he nor I stand any chance of living long enough to finish these books.
