The Lost Rocks: Assessing the Dare Stones with Historian David LaVere
Listen now
Description
A huge thank to historian David LaVere (a fellow Louisiana native!)--he sat down with me recently to discuss his book, The Lost Rocks, which dissects the very real but certainly soap-opera-esque tale of the Dare Stones. Join us as he helps me to unravel the story of the original stone, the professors who examined it, and the forged stones that followed in its wake. Is the original one real? Spoiler alert, we obviously can't say for sure. But it was wonderfully fun to consider! *(PS I am aware there is some breathiness and nasal sounds on the audio during this interview, and I apologize! That's on me. I was battling allergies that day and too close to the mic.) Find David's books here: https://bookshop.org/contributors/david-la-vere (Or order from your local bookstore!)
