“I was greatly enjoying this podcast up until episode 4. Loving the Pokémon franchise and greatly enjoying Dungeons and Dragons, I figured it is a perfect podcast for me to listen to!
The DM does a great job of weaving the lore of Pokémon into the story and the players did a great job of role playing their characters, but also having fun.
Unfortunately when it came to Meepo the Kobold, they completely threw their RP out the window. The point that pushed my dislike for this episode over the edge is when Wendy, a lawful good Cleric, abandoned her ally to revive Meepo, a lawful evil Kobold, out of character. This is after Wendy said earlier that she was on the Bagon’s side after finding out the kobolds stole him from his nest.
I know the podcast is lighthearted and supposed to be fun, but when you make decisions in line with your characters background so far throughout the campaign, but escrow that to save a pointless character who is nothing more than slight comedic relief, ruins it at least for myself. I know others will disagree, but hopefully future episodes will redeem it.”
