Poorly researched and presented
Hosts lack general knowledge of the characters involved. When analyzing a television program I expected the hosts to have researched and been more informed about the history of some of the characters. One particular host mispronounces names constantly. To not know the correct way to say the Medellín Cartel and to pronounce El Chapo’s (Joaquín Guzmán) name with a hard “J” was absolutely ridiculous! I’m not a fluent Spanish speaker by any means, but I believe the show is based in Los Angeles. For a person living in L.A. to be that clueless baffles me! Some of afterbuzz’s other shows really provide some insight. This seemed thrown together and all over the place. I know people binge-watch the show and maybe they put out the podcasts quickly to satisfy the demand, but they can take some time to really provide some more analysis and reflect on themes.
