In 1984, Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the Olympics, in the city of Sarajevo, making it the first ever Winter Olympic Games held in a socialist state and a Slavic language-speaking country. It was also the first Olympics to take place in the Balkans. The Sarajevo Sahat Tower is a historic timepiece which is said to be the only clock in the world that keeps lunar time.
