“I’ve been trying to listen to native plant podcasts for years. What do I mean by trying? As a novice and someone new to native plants, I would find a podcast and listen for 2-3 episodes. It was clear that these podcasts were heard for people who worked in industry. I didn’t know any of the plants and they’re brushed over the scientific names without explaining anything about the plant. I had to keep pausing to check a field guide and it was tedious! I was excited to stumble across this podcast at the beginning of the pandemic. You all explain the plants on top of giving their scientific name, talk about uses of the plants, and the tie these plants to their ecological uses through guests. This podcast and Backyard Ecology are my two go to podcasts and what I will listen to before anything else! Thank you guys for doing such a great job and making native plants accessible for even us newbies!”
