Bryce Harper provided the power and Gio Gonzalez shut the Cincinnati Reds out over 8 1⁄3 IP in what ended up a 5-0 win for the Washington Nationals in the series and second-half opener in Great American Ball Park. Gonzalez allowed just four hits and got 13 ground ball outs from Reds' hitters in an impressive performance, and Harper hit his 21st and 22 home runs of the season to get off to a good start out of the All-Star Break. Nationals now 53-36.
