Too Sensationalized for Me
This just wasn’t for me. I was hoping for information on natural disasters, stories of how people survived (or didn’t), and informational narration. This is more sensationalized and rhetoric-driven. The hosts take turns reading paragraphs in their most dramatic local news anchor voices. The personification of a volcano (every other sentence) and inability to refer to a woman fleeing with her family without also referring to her children in the same sentence (I actually started counting) highlighted the mediocre writing. If you’re a fan of those TV specials that run marathons on what used to be the History Channel, etc. you may quite like it; it just wasn’t what I was looking for.
