I feel so much for Sarah & Nellie, & it was a privilege to be alongside Sarah in her search for information about her biological family.
In the past I have worked with people who can straight from a psychiatric institution into a care home. This podcast reminded me of some of the people my colleagues & I cared for. This was an insightful & upsetting peek into some of the horrors that people endured. Things have improved a great deal since psychiatric institutions, but not enough, at least in part due to the privatisation of care & the effect of capitalism on people who need any degree of care in communities.”
