Our guest for this episode, Surya Sagar is someone who has achieved many firsts for Muay Thai fighters from India. Surya has been crowned the first-ever WBC MuayThai champion of India. He was the first Indian to win at the Max Muay Thai Stadium. Surya is currently placed at 19 in the World Ranking.
Surya was dyslexic and had a pretty hard time coping at school which led to a lot of mental exhaustion. At age 14, he luckily found a channel to let go of all his pent-up aggression and that was Muay Thai. He is also a wildlife enthusiast and loves being around them.
Surya’s father, Arun Sagar, a renowned actor in the Kannada Film Industry, was always a driving force in Surya’s life-supporting him to pursue a career in combat sports.
A passion that grew from watching a lot of Jet Li movies to winning the first-ever WBCMuay Thai champion, Surya has opened a gateway for a lot of youngsters to pursue careers in combat sports.
