Vodicka who blew the whistle on what he called rouge prison guards detailed in his book, The Green Wall: The Story Of A Brave Prison Guard’S Fight Against Corruption Inside The United States’ Largest Prison System. Mr. Vodicka spent 16 years as a decorated guard and was part of the Investigative Services Unit (Internal Affairs), responsible for solving crimes that occur inside the prison. Vodicka gave testimony at a California Senate hearing on the issue which led to reforms and resignations of officials. Vodicka's story is one about having the courage to stand up for what's right even though it seems everyone around you insists on doing wrong. New Abolitionists Radio is an award-winning weekly radio broadcast and podcast that started in 2012 to bring awareness to legalized slavery and human trafficking in the United States preserved by the 13th Amendment of the US Constitution. It is hosted by former prisoner Taison McCollum, activist Mother Khadija, a former prisoner and Grammy-nominated music artist Maxwell Melvins, and Black Talk Radio Network founder Scotty T. Reid.
