“This is a wonderful podcast - brilliant research 5 stars to the pod. But get better lawyers.
The copy, which hedges at every POSSIBLE turn, feels like it was handled by an overzealous first year law student...a really well-intentioned but hopelessly middle-of-the-pack student.
It’s one thing to used “alleged” to describe a behavior or act that is unproven. It’s another to use language that discounts the memory or experience of the victims, when those things are inherently subjective.
In effect the underlying logic of putting THAT much legalistic spin in the ball, suggests victims’ memories and experiences are also “supposed” - and the pervasive is victim minimization.
Even if legal vetting was pro bono, these podcasters and the victims deserve better than cut rate work.”
