Listen to the personal story and inspiring words of Kelsey Rahe.  Kelsey was supposed to start dental school 2 years ago when she learned of her mother’s suicide.  In this podcast, Kelsey shares how she turned her shock, despair, and grief into saving another’s life through donating her bone marrow - on the one-year anniversary of her mother’s death. She has become a national spokesperson for the bone marrow registry. Recorded during suicide awareness and prevention month, Kelsey tells us what we can do to follow her lead in wellness, self-care, and in helping others. Kelsey is now a 2nd-year dental student. He is an editor of the book Early Childhood Oral Health and has published extensively on subjects including dental restorative materials for children, and medical management of dental caries. His current research interests include the development of dental caries prevention programs using risk assessment models to manage dental caries as a disease.
