Description
Welcome back to Next Level Athletes podcast. I'm your host, Kelsey, and I'm super excited to sit down today with my friend Bobby Rodriguez. Also known as Bobby the Jet. Today Bobby and I talked about the journey from him being an collegiate athlete to becoming a world class jujitsu athlete, and then to become a world class elite coach. Bobby emphasized how vital repetition in drilling is, even if it's boring. Those are the things that led to his success in jujitsu, and he applies the same principles to his coaching today. His coaching approach is structured yet simple. He focuses on building an athlete strong foundation and eliminating the rest of the fluff. We were able to talk about how important it is to develop a mindset, discipline, and pay attention to your environment in the journey of becoming an above average athlete. We also discussed how crucial it is for his athletes to be taking responsibility of their training and personal lifestyle through eliminating distractions, doing the little things, and surrounding oneself with like minded individuals. Let's get into it.
