“Whilst scanning through the cultural highlights section of the specialist magazine ‘Old 5punkers’, I noticed that this podcast was given its recommendation of “Podcast of the Week”.
I, doubtlessly like so many of it’s readers, as well as possibly the wider public, was sceptical. But as this magazine has faultlessly provided me with all of my life’s personal needs up until now, I gave it a try.
I needn’t have worried. This podcast unquestionably has the zeitgeist in its cultural cross-hairs like no other. The brevity and breadth of the conversations offer the same intellectual nourishment as those last experienced between Norman Mailer and Gore Vidal.
It is rumoured the BBC killed off its prestigious Film review show because it knew it simply couldn’t keep up with Nathanial and Nick.
But who are they? To us they are enigmas of our times. Each week they enter our own lives like Shakespeare’s Rosaline or Mrs Mainwaring from Dads Army, and in doing so fill the holes in our character so that we may feel complete.
And let it be said, without question, there are no two people in the entire podsphere who sound like they desperately want to fill our holes like Nick and Nat do.
If I was to provide any downside at all, any single wrinkle in this otherwise smooth pristine landscape of podcasting brilliance, is that I am still not totally clear as to what the rules of Fan Club are and would encourage that more time needs to be dedicated to this each episode.”
