“I am a WI in home state licensed family child care. I’m hearing so much whining from parents on this pod cast! You don’t have SEVEN kids when you can’t afford them! Are you really expecting the government to fund your daycare bill totally? Should we take money from the public school system to fund daycares? Raise taxes to pay child care bills? I took my oldest son to an in home daycare his first year and then my husband worked nights til our second child was one and he went back to working days and I quit my factory job and started my own daycare. You make it work! For you and your children! And yes it is expensive to run a daycare. My boys are now 24 and 21. I plan to stay in daycare and do daycare for my grandchildren for free. I choose to do that. We are also so limited on the number of children we can take! I turn so many families away because the state mandates how many children we can take. I understand that they are doing that for safety but there is NOT enough child care available in my area. I feel so bad turning families away. Saying no to a family who needs care! Infant care is especially hard to find because we just can’t take that many infants! I guess I don’t know what the answer is. I just had to say something because I feel that when you have kids it is YOUR responsibility! I have parents abusing the system to get their childcare funded! For instance telling the state that you aren’t with the father when you really DO live together but want the state to fund your daycare bill! What?!”
