Childcare is infrastructure.
On paper we seem like we are doing well, but when you break it down and look at the numbers we aren’t doing well because of college debt and daycare. Until this podcast we didn’t look at our budget and think yes childcare is more than our mortgage we just scrimped from other areas to be able to pay for daycare. The system is broken: even with how expensive daycare is the teachers are not paid enough because there is so much overhead.

Amazing! As a daughter of a single mother who was a flight attendant, I saw my mom do her absolute best to make it work for me with absolutely zero support. Neighbors and family friends (a village!) helped raise me. As an adult now with no children, I love hearing other women’s stories.

This show is beautifully produced. Childcare, the work of women/moms, care work has been invisible and abused - this show reveals what has been hidden. This is a story that has been waiting desperately to be told. Let the care revolution begin!

I’m a working mom and felt this in my core. I had no idea this was the struggle of so many families because I became a mom later in life. Thank you for shedding light on this critical subject. Moms like me want to be a part of the solution but may not know how. This was so needed.
