“Thank you for bringing up such a critical topic. As a working mother of 4 children this podcast brought me to tears with understanding. My eldest is now almost 14 and my youngest are 8 and you’d think childcare costs would have shrunk by now but it it still in our top 3 highest categories of expenses right behind groceries and household expenses. When my children were young I couldn’t afford to work having to pay for 4 then 3 small children and while I had the privilege and ability to stay home because my husband works, most do not. Even the mediocre childcare centers were not affordable. I went to work full time when my youngest two started kindergarten. Even now I still don’t understand why in the world society stresses upon us mothers working or not that we can “Do it all”. The reality is we can’t without help and that help should include affordable safe childcare!!!”
