“I never liked the name but since I’ve been listening to the Dead since 1969 I guess I am a Deadhead. The 3 hosts are extremely likable people. It’s kind of like Seinfeld in that it’s a show - well not about “nothing” but much of the show is about discussing very normal issues that I wouldn’t think would be a basis for a podcast but these 3 are naturally engaging and through their personalities alone have created a genuine community around themselves.
As a professional musician for 50 years I don’t often enjoy hearing non-pros interviewing pros but their style grows out of a true audience-performer connection - a valuable and precious thing.
One caveat - the time spent on - (are they still called?) “commercials” is staggering. When listening to a new episode I generally start about 15 minutes in. But hey if they can quit their day jobs (I’m sure that will happen) more power to them. Very sweet people.”
