Communist Chinese persecuting human rights lawyers
ChinaChange.org reports on the ongoing persecution of human rights lawyers, many of whom have attempted to defend Christians who suffer under draconian controls in the country.
For nine years the Communist government in China has continued the repression of these lawyers, to include harassment and restrictions placed upon their relatives as well as young children.
International Christian Concern also notes that the Christians arrested and imprisoned for their faith are those who have spoken out against socialism. Party officials have also reportedly encouraged thousands of Christians to take down crosses and images of Jesus hanging in their homes and replace them with pictures of China President Xi Jinping.
In addition, Chinese Communist Party officials reportedly told citizens that socialism and President Xi would help them with health and financial worries instead of their Savior Jesus Christ. Some villagers have claimed they were threatened with losing state benefits if they did not comply.
The Scripture warns of the man of sin, describing him as ”the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

Trump survives second assassination attempt
Former president Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election, survived a second assassination attempt on Sunday afternoon at his West Palm Beach golf course, reports the Associated Press.
Suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, age 58, had an AK-47 rifle aimed towards Trump, when authorities arrested him.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw explained that in a subsequent press conference.
BRADSHAW: “Now, in the bushes where this guy was, is an AK-47 style rifle with a scope, two backpacks which were hung on the fence which had ceramic tile in them and a GoPro which he was going to take pictures with.”
The New York Post reports a truck belonging to the suspect sports a Biden-Harris sticker on the bumper, and Routh “has exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes since 2019.”
The gunman had waited nearly 12 hours in a sniper’s nest for Donald Trump — who was within 300-500 yards -- when the secret service spotted the rifle and fired upon the would-be assassin.
Certainly, God’s providential protections have been mercifully granted to the former president!
