Persecution of Christians has worsened since 2022
Aid to the Church in Need released a report on Christian persecution this week.
The study found the situation for Christians in 18 countries of key concern significantly worsened between 2022 and 2024.
Militant Islam was responsible for increased persecution across African countries. And Christians continue to face discrimination under authoritarian regimes like China, India, and Iran.
Aid to the Church in Need noted, “Recurring themes in the report include the displacement of Christian communities following attacks by extremist groups and the forced marriage and conversion of Christian women and girls, as well as the kidnapping and intimidation of priests and the publication of derogatory content about Christianity in school textbooks.”
In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus said, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven.”
Britain ready to legalize assisted suicide
The U.K. parliament is considering a bill to legalize assisted suicide.
A Christian group called CARE is opposing the bill and asking Christians to write their members of Parliament.
Ross Hendry, CEO of CARE, said, “With huge pressure in the media and politics, we face the worst ever threat of assisted suicide becoming law. I urge you, please, to write to politicians to share your concerns. . . . Throughout history, the Church has strongly opposed assisted suicide and euthanasia.”
Kamala doubles down on abortion
Meanwhile in the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris voiced her no-exceptions pro-abortion view on Tuesday.
She told NBC’s Hallie Jackson that she opposes any concessions on a national abortion law, including religious exemptions.
JACKSON: “So, as a question of pragmatism then, what concessions would be on the table? Religious exemptions, for example? Is that something that you would consider?
HARRIS: “I don't think we should be making concessions when we're talking about a fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own body.”
The Center for Baptist Leadership warned, “Kamala Harris says that she does not believe in religious exemptions for abortion. This means that all Christian hospitals, healthcare providers, and businesses would be forced to provide and cover abortion if she got her way. It would be the end of the First Amendment and religious liberty as we know it.”
Trump: “Americans of faith are the soul of our country!”
Former President Donald Trump addressed the 11th Hour Faith Leaders Meeting in North Carolina on Monday.
He warned a Harris administration would come after Christians while promising his administration would fight to protect Christians.
TRUMP: “If Kamala Harris gets four more years, the radical Left is not going to leave Christians alone. It's going to get worse and worse. You're going to suffer greatly. They will come after Christians all over the country.
“I will create a new federal task force on fighting anti-Christian bias that will be done immediately. (cheers) And I think it's very important for the people in this room to know, like Dr Ben Carson knows, Americans of faith are not a threat to our country. Americans of faith are the soul of our country, right?” (cheers)
Paxton suing doctor who gave transgender drugs to 21 kids
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced last week that he is suing a doctor in the state for giving transgender drugs to 21 children.
Paxton said, “Texas passed a law to protect children from these dangerous unscientific medical interventions that have irreversible and damaging effects. Doctors who continue to provide these harmful ‘gender transition’ drugs and tr
