Description
So many of us in Chutz LaAretz want to understand what it’s like for the women who are holding down the fort in Eretz Yisrael with their husbands off fighting this war. These mothers and wives are true heroes, taking care of everything without the support and presence of their husbands who are risking their lives to protect our Holy Land. We want to learn and know more about what these special women – our Jewish sisters in Eretz Yisrael – are going through. So we asked Nina Tokayer on the podcast to DMC with us. Nina lives in Pardes Chana with her husband Yoni and children. Many of you may be familiar with Yonina which is the name of her singing duo together with her husband. Yoni was just released from miluim – reserves– this February.  We’re excited to talk to Nina about her music as well as about what this experience has been like for her and her children. On this DMC we discuss: How Yonina got started and has evolved October 7th for the Tokayers Nina’s experience as the wife of a reservist How Nina’s identity as a musician impacted her experience Nina’s message of chizuk for fellow wives of soldiers Nina’s message of chizuk for Jewish women outside of Israel We love hearing from our listeners.
