“Recap & Ramble with Bec & Zoe (& Maddy) on turning lemons (living with 2x Chronic illnesses) into lemonade (pursuing fashion and helping others”
Description
At the age of 12, Maddy was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis which turned her world upside down. Spending most of high school either in a hospital, or in bed at home, it was where Maddy developed her love of fashion through online shopping. Then, at the age of 18, Maddy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis, which has had devastating impact on her body and her ability to maintain what’s considered ‘social norms’ such as a 9 to 5 job, and a consistent healthy body that allows her to do that.
So what do you do when as a society, we are raised to study, get a degree and work hard at careers, yet your body is physically at odds with your ability to do so, and in turn limits your earning capacity and ability to evolve in the industry you love - for Maddy, her passion is fashion. So we speak with Maddy about how she has turned her chronic illness into her superpower, and was inspired to start Mad About Fashion - A Personal Stylist who helps ALL women feel good in what they wear, no matter your body shop, budget or chronic illness.
