“Deeply saddened by Ash Sarkar’s failure to challenge one of the speakers who mischaracterised the 2019 difficulties over the introduction of the No Outsiders scheme in Birmingham as arising from poor communication. It was nothing of the sort. The actions of the school concerned were vindicated in the High Court and have been much discussed. Allowing a false parallel to be drawn between events n 2014 and 2019 simply fuels homophobia. What we saw in 2019 was bigotry. By all means explain it, but please don’t let it go unchallenged and misinterpreted. Thanks Ash, and Novara Media. I’ve lost trust in you.”
