“I spend a lot of time looking up and listening to podcasts, Novel Marketing is one of the best ones I’ve found that is out there!
Just some of the things that make it ideal is that for one, it’s short. There’s no ramblings that go on for minutes at a time and make a listener feel impatient to hear about the tips and advice. It’s straight to the point and you get the all the stories and details after they give you a topic or tip.
I’ve listened to podcasts where the host go on for about 30 min. about their lives and while that may be ideal for some people, I’m a busy person and usually don’t have time to listen to all that or go through trying to find where the topic of the actual podcast starts. So it being short and to the point is really nice to me.
Another thing I like about this is that it gives really good advice for writers who need it all about marketing! There’s also tips about writing or just plain about marketing so you gain knowledge in multiple areas. I’m a graphic designer and a writer so everything they talk about I apply to myself in multiple ways.
Another great thing is that there are multiple hosts. James and Thomas are great as a team because they give varying views and there’s more conversation going on in the podcast.
I wish other podcasts that I listen to would take notes about how these guys do theirs! It’s all great and my favorite ‘episodes’ are the ones on Branding and “What Should Novelists Blog About,” they are golden!”
