Increasingly disappointed, unfortunately
I really want to like this podcast more than I have been for a while, especially because I really enjoy the He Read / She Read podcast. As an English teacher, it’s always frustrating when anyone with an audience dismissively talks about how they skipped required reading in high school as if it doesn’t matter. It disappoints me when two former/current high school English teachers don’t recognize how this continues the negative social conversation that challenges the work we are doing with teenagers actively and daily. But even more disappointing is that with too much frequency, and a few times recently, either one or both hosts openly talk about not reading the classic novels that they CHOSE to discuss on the podcast. I don’t understand that disconnect and am let down by what is otherwise an appealing, professional podcast.

So easy to listen to and make me want to read everything they suggest. I love the idea of pairing with a classic in case a classic didn’t resonate with me but I still want to explore the topic! love it!!
