In this episode we go over the basics of landing and recovering a patient after they come out from cardiac surgery. This episode gives a nice overview of what to expect in the first shift after OR has been completed. Care varies a lot case by case but the fundamentals usually stay the same. Use this as a backbone and grow your practice from it with personal experience.

In this episode we talk about an algorithm developed in Europe that addresses what should be done if a patient codes following cardiac surgery. It should be noted that this has not been officially adopted by the AHA here in the states but changes to ACLS are currently being looked at. Please consult with your providers and unit leaders before integrating anything into your practice.
