Fascinating journey, great storytelling
I’ve been listening to this podcast series for the past week, immersing myself into Bowie’s journey, so far I’m only at the early Ziggy period but I am so hooked, enjoying every single minute of each episode! The storyline really goes in depth into this modern genius’s psyche, covering his family background, relationship with friends and lovers, creative journey with the ups and downs (a lot of downs in the first years)… I’m only missing some musical excerpts that would add an extra dimension to the story, but I guess the rights to the Bowie songs are not cheap. Aside from the great storytelling, I especially enjoy the amazing interviews with old acquaintances of his, which really helps to paint a vivid picture of a youngster with a lust for life and a desire to escape his anonymous suburban roots. It’s also very emotional, especially when they are asked when was the last time they saw or spoke to Bowie last! Honestly, so far I think this deserves a Pulitzer prize! Can’t wait to listen to the rest of the show.

Like how Bowie was a child rapist and never apologized for it? If you can find his atonement for being a typical white male musician sexual predator then that would be the whole story. We must stop this cycle of abuse and not let sleeping dogs lie.

Though it would have been good if audio recordings of interviews of some of the principals...Read full review »
