“I respect this show. Usually have intelligent discussions about interesting topics with interesting people. But “our side” does a disservice when you don’t discuss issues honestly. You totally dismissed the problems facing Springfield Ohio even before Trump and Vance trashed Springfield for their political gain. Despite the increase in some manufacturing jobs, the 25% increase in population size due to migration put a real strain on community resources. The large increase in immigrants strained healthcare, schools, social services, emergency services, housing, translation services, etc. That was a real problem because no one planned for the large number of newcomers into this community. There were no planned migration supports. Pretending there was no problem until the vile exploitation by Trump and Vance does NOTHING to actually address the underlying problems. It’s a lost opportunity for Democrats to lead. I know you had fun telling the Miss Sassy cat story ( which I heard from a dozen other places) but you lost an opportunity to do more, something more meaningful.”
