Hits a chord
I grew up in the Appalachian region of East TN. When our friend’s family member died, he kept vigil all night so nothing would, as he said, “take away or over the body”. This podcast captures this strange mix of religion and folklore that permeates the region to this day. The story telling plays in that dark undertone of the culture without being disrespectful or exploitative. The narrator doesn’t over exaggerate the accent, the idioms aren’t rediculous, and the stories are in line with real folktales. Seriously worth the listen!

I absolutely love this podcast. The spook factor is high and the production is on point. Can’t wait to hear more!

Y’all. This is the best audio drama I’ve listened to in a LONG time. Come on family, won’t you stay a spell and listen to the story?

Darkly fantastic, ambitiously creative storytelling. I’d sell my soul for one more episode...
