Thank you so much for this interview with Bill Pinckney. Because of the controversy about who was the first African-American to circumnavigate solo, I had some biases about Capt. Pinckney. However, after this interview, I find him endearing and gracious. I have a new found respect and appreciation for this man. I realize, it doesn’t matter to me any more about “firsts”.
He is a gentleman, a scholar and outstanding Seaman. You have outdone yourself in my book Andy, and I want to thank you for opening my eyes and my mind.
I am inspired to Jurassic proportions now!!
