could be interesting w better story telling
The stories are vaguely interesting, but the way they are told does them no justice and frankly made me feel like even at 20 minutes a podcast episode is a waste of my time. The writing needs improvement. There’s a lot of extraneous language that doesn’t add to the story at all and making it more concise will make it more compelling. For example there’s a description of someone sending a Facebook message and she describes in excruciating detail. You don’t need to say she looked in the other messages inbox and then looked at the message and hit reply. You can just say they had a back-and-forth and get to the point. Towards the end there’s an attempt at metaphor and analogy which is very clumsy and because the groundwork hadn’t really been laid down earlier in the episode it really just felt like attacked on attempt at creating significance.

More reviews of One Strange Thing
Everything about this podcast; the mood, the narration, the delivery, they are all firing on all cylinders. A well oiled machine in audio format. I love it. Also, only one of the stories I knew about. The rest, brand new to me, which makes it even better.

Topics and delivery sound boring and uninterested.Information on par with reading wikipedia or Atlas Obscura.

Brilliant! Hope she keeps the episodes in bite size form: they are just enough content!
