Bleach option:
Mix
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4-tablespoon bleach
add to 1 quart of lukewarm water and add flowers
Vinegar option:
Mix
2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
add to 1 quart of lukewarm water and add flowers
