“Let me start by saying I hold you guys near and dear to heart, my dad was a red neck farm boy from the Irish Hills area. Had an aunt and uncle who both retired from Ford in the late 70’s. I’ve got nothing but love for Detroit. Having been born and raised in Vegas during the Spilotro era I just wanted to make one comment about your 6/6/23 episode. My mother was good friends with one of Tony’s associates, his daughter and I were classmates so I have a bit of working knowledge about his crew.
You referenced the scene in Casino where the guy killed in the swimming pool was based on the Vandermark incident. To my knowledge that wasn’t the case. That was the Jerry Lister hit, Frank Cullotta had used underpowered rounds to keep the noise level down but they didn’t penetrate his skull as intended. He even reloaded a couple times, got fed up and ended up drowning him in his pool.
