Good concept but therapist approach is cringe worthy
I like the concept but the whole thing is so contrived, I barely got through one episode. Naturally, people are going to be different when they are being recorded but this was over the top. Her empathetic responses sounded forced, like she was following a formula, “say x when client say y”. She overused “it sounds like” and often interjected at times when silence would have allowed better processing for the client. It was just so unnatural the way she talked in the therapy sessions. And I found myself annoyed every time she said “I’m sorry.” Cringe. I love watching master therapists do their work and this was not it.

More reviews of Other People's Problems
Hillary is exceptionally articulate and able. Her ability to hold safe space for others is inspiring and allows the listener to feel vulnerable in tandem with the episode. There is such an opportunity to learn here that I wholeheartedly recommend.
