“Once when my brother and I were young children, we pestered my thrifty mother into splurging on a value-sized carton of Yoohoo Chocolate Drink. That night around the dinner table, we both took one sip of our chocolate beverages and grimaced with disgust. It tasted bad. We did not understand, nor did we have the vocabulary to say “this Yoohoo Chocolate Drink is spoiled and no longer fit for consumption.” We were young children, vastly inexperienced in the department of expiration dates. Our parents saw our rejection of the rare treat as a sign of ungratefulness. They made us drink every last drop before leaving the dinner table.
Only hours later when my father decided to have a glass of Yoohoo Chocolate Drink of his own did my parents realize there mistake. They felt awful, I’m sure, but it was too late. You cannot undrink a soured chocolate beverage.
Great podcast, Brad. Keep up the good work.”
