Ep. 03 - Salvador Villalobos on Sacred Plant Medicines & the Original Tradition of the Earth
Description
Originally from Mexico Salvador Villalobos now lives with his family in the cloud forest of Ecuador. Here, he tends to the sacred land of Hayulima Spiritual Sanctuary where he lives and hosts retreats and ceremonies year-round.
After completing two degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, and Marine Biology, his life took a sudden turn. Through many synchronicities and faith, he was exposed to the traditions of sacred plant medicines and ceremonies. Ever since he has dedicated his life to the path of medicine and preserving his ancestral traditions. Salvador spent many years of his life learning from different elders, masters, and carriers of ancient wisdom traditions.
He is initiated into the practices and rituals of the Red Path, such as the Sweatlodge, Vision Quest, and Sun dance. Salvador is also a carrier of the half-moon altar and regularly leads ceremonies with various plant medicines.
When you meet Salvador, you immediately sense the immense love that he puts into his work. The sincerity and care he holds in his heart for the well-being of everyone is truly an honor to witness and be around. Salvador is one of a kind, a unique soul that has the best intentions for the people and the traditions he carries.
In this episode, Salvador shares some of his personal journeys that have led him on his path. He reminds us that with this work and the use of psychedelic plant medicines we are not discovering anything new but in fact, we are just remembering the way our ancestors were in connection to the wholeness of life. He talks about the importance of ceremony and intention when working with plant medicine, and the potential benefits for our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. We also dig into the necessity of acceptance as the first step to healing ourselves and coming to terms with the fact that spirituality means nothing more than seeing the sacredness of everything around us, including ourselves.
Salvador and the whole Hayulima family are very dear to our hearts and we are beyond excited to share this conversation with you.
